FAQs

The scar treatment market can be a confusing place with lots of different products promising to do lots of different things to help treat scars. Our priority is to be open and honest about our product. If you have a question about Nourisil™ MD which is not covered in this section please feel free to send it to us via info@nourisilmd.co.uk.

What kind of scars can Nourisil™ MD be used for?

Nourisil™ MD has been designed for the treatment and prevention of hypertrophic and keloid scars which result from medical and cosmetic surgery, wounds, trauma or burns.

How does Nourisil™ MD work?

When the skin is damaged it releases too much moisture. The body then creates excess collagen which causes a scar. Nourisil™ MD creates a silicone barrier that enables the skin to release moisture at normal levels reducing the amount of collagen produced in the scar area. This helps reduce the severity of a scar’s features.

Is Nourisil™ MD guaranteed to work for my scar?

No product can guarantee success however Nourisil™ MD is a Class I Medical Device which means the claims we make about the product’s ability to smooth flatten and fade stars MUST be based on evidence.

How long until I see results?

The recommended duration of treatment is 60-90 days. For larger or older scars, longer treatment may be required.

Is it safe?

Nourisil™ MD contains safe ingredients and is suitable for the use on all skin types and on children.

What are the ingredients?

Cyclopentasiloxane, Caprylyl methicone, Tocopheryl acetate, Dimethicone crosspolymer, PEG-12 Dimethicone/PPG-20 crosspolymer, Polyglyceryl-3 diisostearate, Dimethicone

‘An article, instrument, apparatus or machine that is used in the prevention, diagnosis or treatment of illness or disease, or for detecting, measuring, restoring, correcting or modifying the structure or function of the body for some health purpose.’

How should I apply Nourisil™ MD?

Nourisil™ MD should be applied on a dry and clean skin twice-daily.
